A Beautiful Day for a Wedding

Colin and Jess - what a day filled with joy. On Thursday August 6th, Colin and Jess approached Sheila with a loving gesture, to have a wedding ceremony. The idea began simple, with just an exchange of vows and it grew and grew. When Father Marshall came to perform the Anointing of the Sick, he graciously offered to return on Sunday lead the backyard ceremony for the rite of marriage. Sheila gifted Jess a blue topaz ring that was given to her by her mother-in-law and a matching necklace purchased by Terry. During the hand fasting ceremony, Sheila's ring and Terry's wedding band were tied to the ribbon for the symbolic binding of hands, while Dan and Shelly read the blessings. Perennials filled the balcony that were then planted in the yard for memories season after season and year after year. Dan led a heartfelt speech. Drew led the ceremony with instrumental John Prine. Justin closed the ceremony with a special song - the song Sheila had chosen for her daughter-son dance at the wedding, "Loves Me Like a Rock" by Paul Simon. Colin and Jess read beautifully written vows. Below are the beautiful photos that the wedding photographer, Justine, took and had completed by late in the night.
